  • Limited group size (maximum 20 participants - larger groups considered by appropriate Kokoda Track authorities on application)

Important: Our Spirit support crew ratio is 1 local legend for every 2 trekkers which enables us to ensure your safe direction and provide you with the best cultural experience on the Kokoda Track.  Personal Legends (Porters) are available to carry your backpack for an additional cost outlined below under "Supplied/Provided by Participant"

    • PNG Domestic airfares from Port Moresby to Popondetta for the commencement of your trek with Our Spirit
    • Pre-paid departure taxes from Australia (taxes

    • Comprehensive individual travel insurance (based on under 60 years with no pre-existing medical conditions and nil excess)
    • Pre and post trek accommodation in Port Moresby (twin share room)
  • Personal trekking gear (including a backpack, boots and appropriate clothing)
  • Health check
    • In the interest of your safety, please consult your general practitioner before commencing any physical activity such as the trekking the Kokoda Track (including pre-trek Kokoda training).  Formal certification is not required by Our Spirit, however acknowledgement of medical clearance is required on our participant terms and conditions.
    • Malarial medication as prescribed by your physician
  • Basic personal first-aid kit (detailed in our participant guide)
  • Passport and visa (obtain prior or on arrival at Port Moresby airport - currently $50AUD)
  • Personal Kokoda Legend (Porter) to carry your backpack during the trek ($520 AUD - includes meals and return airfare for porter) can be booked prior to departure if required.  Kokoda backpacks are available to purchase or hire from Port Moresby.
  • Additional fresh local fruit and vegetables can be purchased from villagers if desired.

IMPORTANT:

Our Spirit Pty Ltd holds current public liability insurance and maintains comprehensive risk management procedures for all our adventures as part of our standard business practice. 
 
It is recommended that each person joining the party be physically prepared by the time of departure. An exercise program, including training walks and nutritional advice are included in the program.  There are several sessions within the program that require training with full packs, (that is the backpack and all equipment you intend to use on the trek). By wearing or breaking in your hiking boots, you will minimise the risk of blisters and unnecessary sweat problems if they can be addressed prior to commencing the trek.
